Hey. Interesting clips you put up. Good rant, too, I agree with alot of that. Basically I think alot of people out there are confused as to what they can and can not handle: you either like to see that sort of thing, or don't. For example, the first time people see some of the deformed baby shit on rotten.com, 99% of them either turn immediately away in disgust, or read the entire site, entranced, in one sitting. As for me, I look at all the sick shit I can find on the net, which means I check back to your page several times a day - It's not that I actually enjoy watching some of that stuff, the way I enjoy watching a ball game, but just that I can't look away, more like passing a car wreck. There's more I'd say on that, but George Carlin has probably covered it all in his stand up act. Have you ever seen the bit about asking the police to move car wreck victims closer, so you can get a better look at them? hi-fuckin-larious. My second comment is, I don't think any of those videos are real. I could definitely be wrong, but that's my opinion. I cited some evidence in a post over on penismightier.com, like frame captures, but the biggest reason is that it just didn't look "right" to me - There should have been brain and bone chunks on the wall behind that chick, and the direction of spray seems wrong. Plus, a shot at that range should have messed up her entire forehead, instead of making one little hole. Then again, it's not like I'm Quincy, M.D. As I said in the post, it's a pretty unique video whether it's real or fake. Well, that's my opinion, I could be wrong. But keep posting all the strangeness, we need it to cancel out all the treacle pages. It's not like you'll be the only webmaster in hell :)

O.K. You do see stuff like that at the movies. But you have subtle lighting, directorial control and censorship - so you already know what to expect. The reviews tell you what you are seeing before you go, your mind is already prepped. Finally of course - you know it IS a film. Just make believe. No gratuitous scenes in theory, and a movie moral is usually in place. I come to your site a lot. It amuses me. A basically simple layout, with a variety of links that I would not normally pursue myself. When I came today, I read down the page slowly, read the emails, and decided not to look at the video. Not that I had a choice with the stills up. It didn't disturb me that much. I have seen some horrible sites in the past. What bothers me most is the nature of it. The forum it's being presented in. It doesn't matter if it's real or not. It represents something cruel, heartless and something that makes me want to be living in an alternative universe, far away from things like that. Your site may be reportage for the more peculiar, or maybe common, but strange aspects of everyday people. But as soon as something has a wide and unknown audience - it does have a responsibility to them. To give them the choice. Because you removed some of the choice for me (the stills) I have no desire to continue visiting your site. Its not that I don't want to - Freak shows draw people in, even if those people don't really approve. If I continue to come then it will feel like I am one of those people who stand around looking at the remains of a crash scene. I'll miss your site. I wonder what else will come. I may even look from time to time. I want the world to be a better place though. I doubt you were helping this time.

Subject: uhm... just some journalistic comments
Well, I stumbled on your site about two weeks ago and have been visiting somewhat frequently since. The links, articles, and movies you post are typically amusing, sometimes sick, and even rarely thought provoking. Until today... But wait, before you stop reading and close this, give me a moment to explain. I come to your site for an unknown reason... the same reason that drives people to go to horror movies, to slow down as they drive by the scene of a car accident, to watch the dozens of television shows that highlight police chases and animal attacks. No one is sure what it is. The following is simply my opinion. I am not a psychologist, certified therapist, counselor, or religious leader. I simply know me, hopefully better than any of the above people could. Years ago I watched a John Waters movie where Devine ate a piece of freshly excreted dog shit. At the time I cringed. I couldn't think that a person would want to do such a thing. My friends and I rewound the tape over and over in an attempt to find the trick. Was it a video compositing effect? Was the film stopped and edited after replacing the steaming pile of feces with a more managable fake ploy? No. John Waters actually convinced Devine to eat dog shit. I couldn't believe it. Last week I watched in disgust as a Japanese fellow ate the crap out of some girl's ass... "Oh my god," I said to myself, as I held back my own vomit and lit a candle to cover the scent of shit that didn't even exist. I have not been able to watch that flick again, though I made sure to send it the link to all my friends. The experience was not pleasant. I had not been desensitized to the idea of someone eating shit. Nor do I think I ever will be. It's an awful thought. But I know that there are people who do it. I have scene people's brains lie outside of their heads. I have seen mangled bodies, torn limbs, and decapitated heads, some through my own eyes and some through the eyes of photographers and videographers. None of this, no matter the quantity, ever prepares me for the next time I might see something similar. To say we are desensitized by the media or by entertainment is silly. The first time you see a horrific scene like that, there is a sense of trauma that's inescapable. The next time there is not. But it doesn't mean we are desensitized to it. We've just learned to deal with the trauma in a personal way, just like we learn as toddlers not to put out hand in a flame because we did it and it hurt like hell. I can't say I approve of dissaprove of some of your postings. If I am ever so offended that I feel like less of a human being for looking, I'll simply no longer look. Turn the channel, or better yet, turn off the tv. There are options. It's your right to post whatever you want on your site. I can say, despite my neutral position on your content, I'm not sure it's all together appropriate to not have some type of disclaimer. I realize the disclaimers often attract viewers and readers, but perhaps it would detour some people from stumbling on something they might be offended by. Those who ignore it are simply welcoming the shock. I am often amused by people's apparent expertise on how society acts and reacts pertaining to violence, especially in america. But I think the debate is mute. As much as I disagree with their statements about desensitization and your responsibilities as a media promoter, I also disagree with your apparent (and I use that word because this is the feeling I get from your responses to other's mail. I don't know you personally or have any real idea what your reaction is to these "movies" the first time you view them.) that you take no responsibility for any of your content. I realize you didn't make the movies you post, but you do post them. It hardly means you should be sued by some right wing christian extremist that thinks you corrupted his/her child, but you could take some blame for shocking the hell out of unsuspecting click happy internet surfers. I think that Roosh is completely in his rights to remove a link to your site if he deems his audience is not interested in your content. I've found dozens of other links to your site and I doubt you will lose any sleep over it. I disagree with some of the other comments though. Again, I don't believe we are any more or less sensitive to violence than we were 200 or 2000 years ago. The Romans had festivals at the collesiums and onlookers cheered as "contestants" fought for their lives against vicious animals or other more appropriate human opponents. I'm sure some looked away when the blood started spraying, but most clapped and shouted. Did the newspapers of the west shy away from violence? Did they decide not to report, in grissly detail, the happenings of a murder? Did the magazines or radio decide not to explain what happened when the mob killed its enemies in the streets of New York and Chicago? No. We as a society are eager to hear type of news more than ever, and with more zeal than any other society in the civilized world. We watch stock car and indy races hoping that a crash will interrupt the endless circling of cars. We order videos of motorcycle races where riders crash and are run over by the following ten cyclists. We carefully examine the news footage for any glimpse of the body after a homicide. We flick between newscasts of plane wreckages and celebrity car crashes with some sick desire to see death on film. We have, as a species, a fascination with death. It isn't going to stop, nor has it gotten worse, it's just gotten more noticable with the advent of satellite transmissions and streaming online videos. All of this backs up your point, one which I'd agree with. I am more disturbed by people's frighteningly perverted sexual acts than I am by a "snuff" film which may or may not be real. But on the other hand, the possibilities of realism make it much more of a threat than if it were obviously fake like a horror film in the theatre or obviously real like footage straight from CNN. Anyone who has an interest in film and special effects will have looked closely at all three of those so called snuff films. I don't think I need to go into details about what makes these films fake. While I was intitially distraught by the point blank shot to the head, I quickly found several reasons why it seemed faked to me. The other two were so obviously staged, I only viewed them a second time in slow motion to see how the effect was achieved. I can't say I'm offended at all by any of these. I'm much more disturbed by the idea that a man could derive some pleasure out of being kicked repeatedly in the testicles. An accidental tap of a cardboard box by a co-worker sends me to my knees with the taste of bile in my throat. The idea that someone was gaining some sort of happiness out of this act just makes me ill. So keep doing whatever you deem enjoyable, but do try to take some responsibilty in the fact that it is your site and you are the one who determines what does or doesn't get posted. I'm not trying to condemn or condone the content or your views on violence, media, or freedom of speech or information. But just as we rate the movies we go to, the video games we play, and the magazines we read, I think it's appropriate to warn those who wish to pretend that there are not atrocities of human nature happening all around us all the time. Perhaps this would take the form of the typical attractive disclaimer, or maybe it could just be a less zealous description of the content you post. I'm still gonna click the link, whether or not you tell me how cool or disturbing it is. Kudos...

Ok. I'm sitting here eating a sandwich loading up your page and I see the messages about some snuff vid. Well needless to say I was a lil curious from all the lamenting but I had to finish my sandwich first(who knows how raunchy it could be!). So I load it up and watch....WTF are people complaining about??? You're damn right about having seen worse on the news. I've HEARD worse on the news. The vid is still bad at any rate and I'm skeptical as to how real it is. But if anyone is actually bitching then they need to get their priorities straight and talk to the people responsible for making news and movies.

it was fake. blood from the head is a brighter red due to high O2 content of the blood. that was some dark red shit, was goopy too, and the video was a little over dramatic in the shit flying out. grey stuff would have come out too and the whole action would have come out behind her right ear, not directly behind her. watch it a bunch of times over and over. the sound wasnt the correct sound from that gun (would have been a short whiny sound due to a short barrel and small caliber). ive seen far better fakes...wonder where that suicide video i found is...ill send it in if i can find it. keep up the wonderful work on the site, one of the best ones out there.

Subject: this is what i posted...
you have a right to see it before anyone else mate, this is what i posted to my site. [nothing witty here...] - digital fox Monday, December 6, 1999 11:30 PM PST well, this is a post i never thought i'd make. i know that alot of people don't read this site, in fact, i get like 10 hits a day, but you know what, that rules with me! i love it! so with that said, i'm now going to state an opinion that will more than likely drop me to about 1 or less hits a day. fine, but this must be said. for a while back, i was publicly linking stile's site... after a while i decided i just didn't like the content that he was posting, hence the reason i took it down. i have nothing personal against stile, in fact, i rather enjoy some of his humor and i really like his music! after tonite though, i doubt i could ever recommend his site to anyone at anytime. stile posted a "snuff" film on his site (to which i did not download) this evening. for those of you that don't know, snuff is basically home video of extreme torture and/or murder. it does exist, but the real stuff is extraordinarily hard to find (customs really cracks down on it). however, in the wake of the internet, snuff films, fake or not, have become increasingly more available. stile, i am honestly sorry that it did not affect you. you would never know how sorry i was too. in reality it does affect you by calousing you more to the things that surround you. why do you think violence is so predominant in our society? it's because of the everyday stuff we see going on around us, and the fact that we are saying that everything is A-OKAY, when in fact, it is not. i am also very dissapointed with the way that you responded to the gentleman who wrote in with his concerns. i felt that you almost had a vengeful tone to your post. he was not personally attacking, rather he was expressing his concerns with the subject matter of your posts. however, i am not one to judge... for i am the same as you. i'm not asking you to take it down, that's not my right. it's your site, your will, and this is america (at least for me it is), therefore you have been granted the right to free speech. that right should not be robbed from any man or woman. however, with the freedom comes responsibility. we are all bound by the moral responsibility of upholding the rights of one another. my heart goes out to all the people who suffer everyday. i wish that i could change the world, but no amount of sorrow does. we must act and think in a way that makes subtle changes. the world does not change over night... in fact, quite sadly, it takes time. we must start by taking a stand on the issues that are wrong, not just whatever feels wrong to you at the moment. i can see the riddicule coming from this post, but remember, your words affect thousands of people. you have the responsibility to the people you post publicly to. noone is forcing those people to visit your site or download from you, i realize that. however, you have to understand that human curiosity and man's vices often best him, therefore do not give reason for these people to fall into these traps of desensitisation. i hope the best for you stile... i really do. to everyone, i hope that everyone succeeds in everything they do, but please, remember the things you do are seen by millions, kids and otherwise. the excuse "parents should watch their kids better" doesn't work anymore. the sad truth is that parents no longer take an active interest in the things their kids do. it's a reason, not an excuse. we all have our rights, with that comes sacrifice. as a side note, i have also removed r33t.org for the same reasons. they have been replace by 5 Unruly Janitors.

I've seen execution videos on the net that scared me more than that. Hell, your japanese news video where the guy was kicked down the bleachers made me look away from the monitor the first time. I think it might be the blood that's drawing my attention to it. Maybe I'm a vampire, and if there's blood, it doesn't scare me. Who the fuck knows. Aside from those two, you're site is the BEST, with r33t.org following, not very closely (they don't update as much as you do, and I like what you have to say), but I wasn't too happy about the "hell" link (yea, it was my mistake, but you could've at least warned us.) and the snuff film. I can appreciate your reasoning behind posting the disturbing (stomach turning for me) clips, but do you honestly feel alienating your visitors was worth it? Watching people taking it in the groin or falling on their head is one thing but murder, fake or not, is not something to be taken lightly. Citing violence in movies or television as an example isn't quite valid either. We as the viewer understand that it is fiction, and hopefully has something to do with the plot. We know it isn't real. CNN et al. are reporting events that are going on in the world, not necassarily glorifying them, which seems to be the purpose of the clips you've posted. Hey, In response to the people who are complaining about the snuff film: if I remember correctly, the link was titled "snuff.mpg" and the caption on the img read "Who says snuff films don't exist? I hope you don't cry." These people, having enough sense to articulate email to bitch about this, could have probably perceived that this was going to be either a snuff film, or a well faked snuff film. If they based a judgement of what it could possibly be a subject of by thinking about the average content of stileproject.com, then really they got what they expected to see. It is odd that people can look at sexually defamitory and, basicaly, sodomy, and laugh at it, tell their friends or whatever. But when death comes up... Their morals and sense of humor are so suddenly adaptive to the situation. I think anyone who visited your site and enjoyed it in the past should either reflect in what kind of material fascinates or entertains them and accept that they have enjoyed others suffering (some people who practice odd sexual preferences can be driven to that as a result of trauma) in the past and are now laughing at the horrors of modern society... and it's the same thing as what they used to enjoy. Personally, I find the image to be disturbing in the fact that there is a market for it. Some people DO get their rocks of by seeing (sometimes supposed) killings. But it doesn't stay with me that long. I have accepted that there is sickness in the world. I have even explored some of the evidence of it (snuff films, sick ass pron, et c.) and become desensitized. I imagine when television was first accesible people first saw video of war in other countries they reacted to this much in the same way that many of your viewers are. Shock and terror, disgust, whatever. But, society has become so desensitized to war and brutality on the news and in the movies that it doesn't faze them anymore. Ask your parents how scary Texas Chainsaw Massacre was when it first came out. Now, do you know anyone in your age group who feared that movie extensively? I think people are really just scared to realize how sick we all have become. But, it's fucking entertainment, especially to see people react like they are angels. Thanks, you're a funny man and a lot more of a social commentatir than you think. Keep up the weird work.

There's noplace to put a bullet, they fire special blank charges. 2. That little spot on her forehead where she's shot is a powder burn. That's why it's so neat and there's no splash or raggedness around the edges. 3. There's no hair, bone chips, or brain matter in the splash on the wall behind her head - just a homogeneous red splatter. Definitely NOT what an explosive head-shot looks like. 4. She's not tied to her chair, but she slumps perfectly upright in the chair. Fresh corpses don't sit upright in chairs - much less corpses still flopping around from being shot point-blank in the head. to be honest with you, that chick getting her clit burned with a cigarette bothered me more.
